Management of hot flashes in women with breast cancer
Abstract
ABSTRACT Hormone suppression therapies are used for the treatment of breast cancer in both the adjuvant and metastatic setting. However side effects, including hot flashes, are often frequently reported by patients as the cause of discontinuation of therapy. This paper presents an overview of hormonal suppression therapies and the evidence based management options for hot flashes in breast cancer patients summarized in a suggested treatment algorithm.
